EPDM/PTFE/Aluminium Oxide Seals
PTFE and Aluminium Oxide seal materials provide the most reliable sealing solution available, reducing risk of pump leakage and resulting water damage to the home while the use of PTFE (Teflon) also reduces the chances of the seal sticking when a pump is not used for periods of time.
Continuously Rated Motor
Continuously rated shower pumps effectively run until the user turns it off. This is particularly good in a family home where the shower needs to be used frequently throughout the morning or evening. A pump that isn’t continuously rated will turn itself off to allow the pump to cool, potentially causing issues with water pressure to the shower.
Single Impeller Shower Pump is designed to help improve your hot or cold water supply to a tap or to pump mixed water from a shower mixer. This pump will help maximise the pressure of your water to make the flow of your tap of shower more powerful.
Positive Head
A positive head shower pump is designed to be gravity fed, therefore, it needs a 'head' of distance (at least a metre) between the pump and the bottom of the cold water cistern. The gravity feed 'kick-starts' the pump, pushing water straight through to your shower.

Dry Run Protection

An automatic flow switch is crucial to have the shower running when it needs to be. When flow exceeds 0.8 litres per minute the pump automatically starts, delivering that powerful flow that it’s there for.

On the advice of a friendly plumber when faced with having to replace the third pump from another manufacturer in two years, we got a Stuart Turner type 46497 Shower pump. The plumber fitted the pump with little difficulty and wow what a difference. The pump is powerful, uses 22mm pipe connections and is whisper quiet. As for the service from Plumbworld, their website was excellent, they got the pump quickly and it was delivered as promised. I'll definitely use Plumbworld again and recommend them to all my contacts. Finally I was very pleased to find out, when I registered my purchase with Stuart Turner, that my new pump has a five year warranty. !) out of 10 to everybody.

I have not installed this pump yet as I bought it as a back up for the existing one I have. I bought the last one from Plumbworld over ten years ago and it is quite a surprise that the new one I purchased was on around £30 more which is not a bad increase in ten years. Also the fact that these pumps last around ten years and the original one is still going (apart from the odd noise coming from it) is a plus. Speedy delivery also at a good price. Thanks Plumbworld.

Installed a surrey flange to illuminate air and now we have a Torrent of hot water at all outlets, and what a beautifully quiet pump. Care needs to be taken to remove the existing Tank connections.
