Do you do this without the drilled tap hole so I could have wall taps instead?
This basin is only available with the predrilled tap hole, you could consider a countertop basin for use with wall mounted taps such as PWITFLU600OAK33

Unfortunately, this recessed basin vanity unit is only available with 1 pre-drilled tap hole.

Would it be possible to paint over the wood finish or has it been waterproofed ?
Yes, it’s possible to paint the Vitusso vanity unit, but the wood finish has been sealed at the factory, so you’ll need proper sanding and adhesion primer, as it’s not bare wood.
Additionally, if you paint the unit, this may also invalidate the warranty.

I ordered this vanity unit thinking it was fluted real wood but its not. It is a plastic imitation wood. Disappointed because its not clear in the description and has to return it. Dont order this unit if you want real wood.

This is a nice enough unit, that looks nice enough in our bathroom. We bought it to replace a cheaper unit that had a press close drawer mechanism that was a bit clunky. I was sold on the claim of how smooth the drawer runners were.
So its ok, but they're not that smooth! They don't always go to full close by themselves requiring a final push to get them shut.
Plus the sink - which it was not evident from the pictures - is made of a material that is dull/matt rather than shiny like a porcelain sink. Probably my fault for not recognising that from the description but a bit of a disappointment all the same.
Lesson to learn - don't order online without first viewing the product in person.
